Quick one guys.

 

We have one of the above that has done less than 10 hrs and for no apparent reason keeps shutting down. We have tried 2 projectors of same age, make and model in the same room and the same thing keeps happening. Permanent red power and lamp light on. Any thoughts on causes and solutiuons??

Is this a new projector, or just a new lamp? Have you reset the lamp hours if you just changed the lamp? Otherwise, do all these projectors work in other locations? If they do, try the projector with just the power plugged in. If you still cant get the projector on, then there might be something wrong with the mains power supply in that room. You will probably need to get an electrician in to look at it.

All units tried are brand new and work fine in other locations.

Does it have a network port, can you check the onboard log? Maybe a serial managment port if its old or low spec.

The units are not networked

Filters are spotless. Brand new units that have done 10 hrs at the most

So it's just any same projector that is installed in this location exhibits the same fault? and the original projector from this room works fine elsewhere?

 

Bad earth, voltage, lead, switch etc.... on the mains feed?

Turned out to be a bad earth from the VGA cable to the boom arm it runs through
