Mac - Netowrk and missing devices

Hey all,

 

Feel I'm just being stupid and missing something obvious here but I've got two issues currently.

 

Since playing with a few virtual machines, both my networked fodlers and dvd drive aren't showing up on my mac, I'm assuming it's something to do with the fact the virtual machines "were" using them, but they don't seem to reappear even when the virtual machines are disabled.

 

And nothing is appearing in shared/networks in terms of mac showing on windows pcs, or windows pcs showing on mac?

 

 

Am I missing something obvious here, just as my noobimacness shows through, or is there something broke?
