iPad, Opera and Facebook

oh dear - major fail! can you not log the traffic that it is sending? although could it be that facebook has just started prompting for HTTPS?

Actually Opera is using %3A for ":" and %2F for "/" - in any other browser it's spat back out as gibberish. Perhaps that's what's getting through.

 

Might be an idea for anyone with this configuration - although lets be honest everyone is probably using Safari - to take a look.

Probably doing that accelerated browsing stuff where it shunts requests via their servers, you'd need to block or crack open and inspect that traffic to stop it. Or jut shred the iPads

Apparently this is old, old, old news. Been around for months, if not at least a year.

I reported this issue with Smoothwall abouta year ago, there are several websites you can block to disable Opera on mobile devices. Opera is the only browser able to do this (i tried literally 20 others).

This affects all mobile versions of Opera and on any device, so if you have guest Wifi, then this gets around the filtering on that to.

I imagine a Kindle Fire could probably also do this given its accelerated browsing feature.
