We have Sims In Touch installed today and one of the defaults is to include parents on Behaviour reports submitted. We don't want to leave it to the staff to untick the option

Does anybody know how to remove them from the default recipients selected?

I think, that's a behaviour notification, so goes to all linked adults by default when you hit send. Can you untick all methods for contacts in the Module Setup | Default Communications Method for behaviour?

Otherwise just delete/disable the template for that message type so it has to be done manually?

You can use a behaviour alert, to automatically inform internal recipients so you might not need to send notifications at all.

Check though, i may be mistaken.

I only get Default commuication methods for parents such as email etc not for individual items such as behavior. From Template manger I don't seem to have an option.

I guess I could try removing the ability to send email message from Class Teacher But I Don't want to break it!

This is from the manual, the picture makes it look like you get defaults per type of message, panel 5.

Maybe it's new in Spring.

Setting Default Communication MethodsWhen you create a message and select the intended recipients, their default

method of communication is selected automatically. This section describes

how to set the default method of communication for each role in the school

using the Defaults - General panel.

The following panels on the InTouch Setup page enable you to define

separate communication defaults for the corresponding message types:

Defaults - Behaviour Notification

Defaults - Exam & Student Timetable

Defaults - Unexplained Absence

Defaults - Late Notification

Defaults - Exam Reminder

07| Setting Up Emergency Alert Notifications, the Default Communication Method and SMS Matching

Managing Communications using InTouch 119

Where a particular message type enables you to define separate defaults,

the options selected in these panels take precedence over those selected in

the Defaults - General panel. For example, if you indicate in the Defaults

- General panel that Staff should receive correspondence via Internal

Messaging but in the Defaults - Unexplained Absence panel you

indicate that they should receive Email correspondence, the option(s)

selected in the Defaults - Unexplained Absence panel takes precedence

for this message type only. Therefore an email will be sent for this message

type. For all other message types, unless over-ridden by the settings in the

five additional panels named above bottom five panels of this page, the

default communication method is taken from the Defaults - General panel.

1. Select Tools | InTouch | Module Setup to display the InTouch Setup

page.

2. Click the Default Communication Methods hyperlink to display the

Default Communication Methods panel.

3. For each staff Role, select the radio button that indicates the default

method of communication you wish to use.

120 Managing Communications using InTouch

If a mistake is made while defining the default communication methods,

click the Undo button to revert to the settings as they were the last time

this page was saved.

4. For the remaining panels on this page (the names of which are listed at the

top of this section), select the check box relating to the preferred method(s)

of communication for messages of that type.

5. Once the required communication methods have been set, click the Save

button to save the changes.

It appears to be new in the spring release. I've unticked the option in the module setup but they still appear in the list as ticked for email but unticked for options

I would rather they didn't appear at all. As the student appears also.
