Hi

Trying to install a clean install of Win7, cannot run the disk through setup in the OS as different architectures, so i must run a clean install from the disk.

as i am using a netbook without a cd rom i would like to be able to run this setup from a pxe boot.

I already have an environment in place, WDS etc, so is it possible to get this to work?

Thanks

if yuou have wds set up just add the wim file from whatever version of windows you want to install as an install image or probably easier install from a usb pen the tools somewhere on ms site

If it's just a one off I would suggest using a USB DVDROM drive. Always handy to have one around and they're cheap now.

Or use WDS. Best way to do it is to use WDS to provide an initial WinPE boot image over PXE boot and then use MDT to actually deliver the Windows7 installation you can fully customise it with settings / drivers / install software etc via MSI or .exe all automatically.

Spent the last week getting to grips with MDT here and it really is fantastic. From PXE to ready built workstation = 12 mins on a fast PC.

Sounds good.

Do i just copy these files into my REMINST image folder wihtin another folder, or do I need to import them through 'add image' on WDS server?
