We have 65 iPods here.

We used the following method to get them, contact a prefered supplier and get a quote for them. Contact your local Apple store and ask them to match it with free engraving, our local store did both. Apple UK won't help you, only local stores will price match.

The one problem with the laser engraving is that should one be faulty it takes longer to return it and get it replaced as you can't use a local store and keep the engraving, you have to send it back to Apple via snail mail.

Apple will engrave them and also consecutively number them when you order more.

Sharon,

Please can you enlarge on your answer? Which part of Apple will do this for you, and for how many devices? I've just spoken to Apple and they have told me that they definitely won't do this in the UK, but that some Resellers do (for a cost), though it sounds as if this might be third-party!

When we bought our iPods apple engraved them all for free and price matched other resellers. However I think you may be making the same mistake as I did, don't contact Apple Uk directly, they are useless, contact the nearest store to you and speak with the business manager there. If you order this way, you also find there can be a few other perks like queue jumping (with no appointment necessary) when you need to visit the "Genius" bar because the devices are broke etc, well that is my experience.

Hope that helps.
