Web Server Stopped Working?

Hi,

 

Ive just been trying to setup Profile Manager to test for an up coming potential ipad deployment.

 

And only when coming to open profile manager or the user portal did i realise something was up. Neither would load, even though its pretty quick and easy to setup.

 

On the web tab in the server app, ive clicked on view server website to load the default web page, only do be greeted with, page not found.

 

Ive browsed to where the web site it located and all files are present.

 

Also is also affacting software updates, ive tried restarting the services, the logs dont say anything is up, or anything has changed, other then all the latest apple updates, so im abit stuck.

By any chance are you using Lion server 10.7.3? If you are its a known issue with Apple but no fix has been presented.

 

I believe it has something to do with postgres. Spent a lot of time trying to fix the issue last week with no joy its in Apples hands.

Cheers for letting me know, i am running 10.7.3, i knew it fixed a lot, and updated asap, didn't realise it broke anything, good job I'm not that dependant on web server (yet)

I would love to believe that Apples updates fix most issues but in some cases they cause more damage than good!

Its really annoying, and its not like the web service is a small thing either, theres loads apps and services that need it and they've gone and broken it!! can't believe there aren't more posts related to it.

For me the web service has never been reliable on Lion Server. I've never gotten the god damn thing to actually start and serve up pages. Anything other than the servers hostname doesn't work.

Anyway to rollback to 10.7.2?

Right this issue is still on going, but it may not be anything to do with os or updates.

 

the server name is macserver.local and when i visit http://macserver.local it wont load the page/cant find it

 

But orginally the server was called server.local and we i go to http://server.local it loads the default intranet webpage.

 

So my question is, how can i change this to the new name, as i know when renaming some of the services and keep the old settings, any help would be much appreciated

What happens when you use the IP?

with IP address the connection gets refused
