RM Mobile one Webcam Issue

Afternoon people,

 

Just trying to run a RM Mobile one on Win 7, its found most of the drivers and works relatively fast as well, however the web cam driver USB2.0 1.3M UVC Webcam driver only shows the screen upside down in all apps which use the webcam.

 

Tried looking for drivers, found some but won't install as it keeps saying it has the best driver etc......

 

Has anyone else experienced this issue either on RM or another model and found a workaround or resolution to it?

Sounds like RM all over! It is a little odd I must admit.

 

Does this happen on all RM Mobile One's? Have you tried contacting RM themselves?

Michael, to be fair, RM havent released any specific Win 7 drivers for this laptop. Its just under 3 years old however. The machine runs quite sweet on the drivers supplied with an RM Win 7 recovery disk, apart from this one. Tried forcing the vista driver on, but no can do!

It does sound like a driver issue from what you're saying. I would of thought RM would have drivers for Windows 7 these days. You could try searching their knowledgebase or raise a support request.

Very old thread but I resolve the same issue on Ecoquiet 630's and 780's by doing the following;

 

It may be that the Microsoft driver contained within Windows 7 constantly takes precedence over any other driver that is later installed to the system.

Once the RM driver has already been downloaded from their site and unzipped to the C:\RM folder, but before going to SetUp

 

1. Through Device Manager identify and then uninstall the current driver.

2. Go to the driver location, C:\Windows\system32\drivers\usbvideo.sys.

3. Copy the driver to a flash drive for back up.

4. Take ownership of the file from Trustedinstaller and set full control to Administrators.

5. Delete the driver from the System32 folder.

6. Install the Bisoncam driver and reboot.

 

The RM driver is allocated for Vista in a lot of instances, but it is not usually necessary to run it in compatibility mode.
