It's one of the pocket sized ones. Anyway, it kinda just bounced across the floor, hasnt been the first time but it will unfortunately be its last.

 

I plug it in, its light blinks on and then fades away....

 

Im obviously in mouning as i have so many questions!!

 

Anyway of rescuing the contents? What will it look like on the inside? Can i stick the drive in my caddy lol? What have i actually broke? I would have thought if it was the drive itself the thing would still power up but throw up errors? No?

Crack it open and get a HDD USB adapter. External HD cases normally fail before the actual drive does, although bouncing could have made this a moot point. Either way you may well be able to recover a fair amount of the data.

Great little device I purchased when I used to work in a computer repair store, only mine was a cheaper model but also from ebuyer

Google around and try some corrupt recovery programs too, cant name any of the top of my head but found them in the past for recovering fails memory cards of someones wedding and a couple of teachers lost work on broken external hdds
