We are hoping to move over from Server 2008 to R2 with the switch over happening during the Summer holidays.

We will have to build our domain and windows 7 images as we are currently on XP.

To make things easier I was thinking of using a project management tool so the two of us here knew what needed doing and what had been done.

Would using some sort of project management software help us with this or do you think something simpler would be better?

thanks

Whats the point though?

You can use the newer group policies with any domain controller, just edit them from windows 7. I really don't get the advantages.

Sorry, I meant for setting it up in the first place. Not for managing once set up.

Also our current Server 2008 domain has major issues with synching which have been with it for over a year!

Ahh ok, yes it makes sense to start with R2 then.

Just build it using the windows server setup wizard, it should run you though all the steps needed.
