Ive got a backup job that regularly completes with the following exception:

Note: The backup job was configured to use the Advanced Open File Option. However, files were skipped during backup processing. Please ensure that the Media Server BACKUPEXEC is properly licensed with the Advanced Open File Option, or that the job is properly targeted for media servers that are licensed with the Advanced Open File Option.

Im pretty sure we are licensed for the advanced file open option, what would i look for to check whether the job is properly targeted?

Sorry to drag up an old post but am currently getting the same issue and not sure if you managed to find out what was causing this!?

You can check whether you're licensed for "AOFO by going to Help > About Symantec.... > License Information" and as long as your jobs were created from the media server initially, the targeting should be fine seeing as you have to select device and media to backup to which unless specified differently, should default to local devices.

Well managed to fix this by simply creating dummy files for the specified skipped files. Not a solution but a well documented work-around.
