Vlans and managing the Network

We have a 450 client, flat network that is split amongst 8 HP Procurve mostly GL41xx series switches. the GL are all connected by fibre transceivers.

 

I need to get some vlan management onto the system to manage this traffic, improve network performance and create a guest wireless network.

 

The core switches is a 4108GL with fibre transcievers to the other site switches. Is this a good enough core switch to manage the network appropriately or should i be looking at something more up to date? Thinking of costs, will a newer switch with its specified fibre transceivers, talk the the fibre tranceivers in the existing 4100 switches? or will i be looking at an expensive upgrade?

 

Can anyone recommend a reseller for this type of project?
