andyturpie Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 Afternoon peeps, All our workstations are kitted out with Intel DQ57TM mainboards and we have come across quite a few issues. Since returning to school after xmas, we have had 6 boards die, numerous workstations needing an ATX static reset and around 20 reports of workstations CPU fans going beserk even when machine is idle. Tried flashing BIOS to latest release, but that doesn't resolve the CPU fan issue and even when workstations are idle then they seem to max out their RPM's, plus when they are maxed out, I cannot even get Intel Desktop utilities to report back settings! Anyone else had these issues? Cheers
rich_tech Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 If your within warranty, get in touch with your supplier and get them out to sort it, I have had some major problems on my site here with intel boards dying on me (Older intel boards admittedly DG965MS ones I think) we have lost in excess of 15 units now with problems relating to that certain motherboard 1
crc-ict Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 We have a lot of 4-5 year old RM One machines with Intel motherboards and they are all slowly dying due to motherboard and/or PSU failure. We haven't yet worked out which one causes the other to die. 1
andyturpie Posted January 17, 2012 Author Posted January 17, 2012 cheers guys, the machines are around 4 months old but the mobo is the 1st gen of core iX. We had to use this board as every 2nd gen mobo had build issues on our current CC3 network. I have faith in the company replacing under warranty, but its just strange these symptoms have cropped up site wide at the same time!
