Trying to combine 2 photos with different exposures to create a composite

Spent a few hours trying to do this myself but I think because I havent taken the 2 photos from the exact same location I have kind of shot myself in the foot.

 

What Im trying to do is to adjust these 2 photos so the view form the window, and also the room, are both exposed properly.

 

If anyone could use some photoshop magic to 'stitch' the two of these together please it would be great and much appreciated!

its great. Wish I knew how to do it. I tried to cheat and use Elements and use the Photomerge Exposure auto tool but that didnt really work, and in full on CS 5.5 I have no clue where to start.
