Help with file transfer to Ipad2

Hi all,

 

I am an Ipad virgin and recently won one through work .... YAY!!

 

Now, I have loads of videos and music etc stored on various pc's ..... can anyone please tell me the simplest way to transfer in particular some of my videos directly from the PC to the Ipad 2?

 

I understand that they have to be in a readable format, i.e. mp4 etc but google has thrown up many many different ways and its really doing my head in .... all I want is for my lad to be able to watch the hundreds of Johnny bloody test episodes I have stored for him without having to rely on Snapseed/Drop box/4shared etc as I want them saved in the "videos" folder on the Ipad itself!!

Download the FREE app 'FlexPlayer' from the app store. Then within iTunes, click on your ipad and go to the Apps tab. Select the FlexPlayer app and you should see a file upload box on the right. You can then browse and add any kind of DivX / AVI file without any converting Thats what I do anyway

Many thanks, I'll give that a whirl .... does that mean that I would then be safe to remove the file share apps I use currently such as 4shared etc and the files will then be stored locally on the Ipad?

Yeah it stores them on the ipad. You can use dropbox if you want to transfer any other type of files I suppose. I only recently got an iPad myself and have been messing around with free apps to see what they do. This player is a good one. Not tried MKV files to see if they work?

Though it apparently supports MKV

Thanks again m8, I would have simply used the VLC app as I love that player but from what I have read the app itself is no longer suppoerted .... Ill give FlexPlayer a whirl when I get home .... cheers
