Hi all

We have Backup Exec 12.5 and we have policies set up to take care of full backups to disk and duplication to tape. To resolve problems initially encountered, we split the main file backup into year groups, so that if a job fails, only that one year group has to be re-backed-up. This has worked well, except that the jobs all start at the same time, which can cause performance issues - e.g. the jobs are still running over 48 hours later, and things pretty much grind to a halt then! If the jobs could be set to start sequentially, or at least if the start times could be staggered, everything would be OK - we know, as we've manually retried the jobs on that basis with no problem. However, I can't see how to set each job to start at different times - they get their start time from the policy, which says start at 23:00. Can I configure this somehow to stagger the start times of the 10 or so jobs that run using that policy, each with its own selection list?

Many thanks!

Just wondering if anyone has any thoughts on this as I'm still trying to resolve this problem and a Google search led me to my own question.....!!
