I'd probably install XBMC live distro instead of Android, but the beauty is you can change the OS easily as it's on a micro-SD card.

I have heard about these in some of my circles. Apparently XBMC was its original intention but then someone suggested android as it could be paired up with Google TV and various player applications (iPlayer, ITVPlayer, 4OD, Demand5 etc - pretty much all freeview channels...much like how the xbox is going now if you have sky!)
