Sophos endpoint 10 and OWA

Just to make everyone aware that you might experience a problem with Sophos Endpoint 10 and OWA.

 

There is a service in Sophos Endpoint called Sophos Web Intelligent Service which causes the problem. Basically when you receive an email you have to refresh your mail box.

 

We have run a few tests and found the following services:

 

Sophos Anti Virus (SAV) ---------------- ON

Sophos Web Intelligent Service (SWIS) -- OFF

RESULT: WORKING FINE

 

SAV ----- OFF

SWIS ---- ON

RESULT: HALF WORKING

 

SAV ----- ON

SWIS ----- OFF

RESULT: NOT WORKING AT ALL

 

SAV ---- ON

SWIS ---- OFF

RESULT: WORKING FINE

 

So we have found this article which tells you what to do to disable the service:

but we are just trying a gpo entry to stop the service on machines.

EDIT/UPDATE: The gpo entry works fine, but i see this as a temp fix until sophos get a fix for this.
