leon Posted May 3, 2007 Posted May 3, 2007 If you want to keep using your ghost images, then you'd be best getting yourself a PXE server, to network boot and pass bootdisk images to your clients (providing your NICs support this). Ghost Enterprise Suite includes an excellent version. RIS utilises PXE but afaik, it'll only let you deploy riprepped images. Someone else might know otherwise. Anyway, the PXE included with Ghost Enterprise saves me a great deal of time -highly recommended. Though I'm very interested in the new deployment tools with 2k3sp2...
plexer Posted May 3, 2007 Posted May 3, 2007 I believe DmMcoy is doing us a guide on using windows pxe to deploy the ghost boot disk. Ben
DMcCoy Posted May 3, 2007 Posted May 3, 2007 I am indeed, its basically someone elses windows 2000 pxe guide updated for 2003 (and ghost) with a couple of important notes. I shall finish it this weekend when I reinstall my home server. The original guide was easy, finding out that ghost disk images only get found when not in the root of the tftp folder took a little longer.
bishopsgarthstockton Posted May 4, 2007 Posted May 4, 2007 sounds intresting to me. looking forward to seeing the guide
