glennda Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 Been asked to look into a decent laptop for a friend, He wants a fairly decent machine, At the moment he's said a must is around 13" screen. My main suggestion to his was to remove the HDD and put an SSD in. anybody seen any good offers recently?
MYK-IT Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 Cheap Laptops, Notebooks, Tablets & Netbooks - Bargain range - Save on Laptops Normally the cheapest.
glennda Posted December 5, 2011 Author Posted December 5, 2011 What's the budget? hes got money! He hasn't said yet! but Probs max around 700
glennda Posted December 5, 2011 Author Posted December 5, 2011 Oh and preferably 7 pro so he can do the emulator stuff.
Soulfish Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 Have a look on the Dell Outlet and get a E6320 with SSD and Quad i7. My other half picked one up recently for about £600 + VAT with Quad i7, 4gb Ram, Intel ABGN wireless, bluetooth, uprated screen (1600 x 900), 128gb SSD and 3yr NBD warranty. Was a returned order so didn't even have a scratch/dent Bought an extra stick of 4gb (was 1 x 4gb stick originally) for around £30 and it's now got 8gb RAM Can get some amazing deals off of the Dell Outlet if you watch it for a week or two and are ready to buy as soon as you see something good come up . Also a good place to pick up way overspecced servers at bargain prices. Dual AMD 12-core 6000's with 64gb RAM and 12 x 300gb SAS drives for 2.5k was the most recent bargain I spotted. Shame I didn't have any budget to buy it
andrewsteers Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 hi, just got a toshiba c660 d, £280.00 fntastic value.
difinity Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 Another recomendation for the Dell Outlet. I've sorted loads of people out with laptops from there, never had any problems with them.

I find their consumer range can be a bit crap and flimsy (but very cheap if that's what you want!). Prefer to spend a bit extra and get the latitude range with metal alloy cases, reinforced hinges etc.
