We have just bought 32 handsets and 4 slates I've setup 2 of the slates on a pc to test them out. However do I need to register all 4 slates on all 9 of our boards? This will be very time consuming if I have to! Even more so with the handsets!

Are the lecturers on their limited accounts able to use the wireless dongle and register devices?

Hi,

If you have the 2.4GHz version (the one that comes with an "ActivHub" that looks like a USB pen drive), then all you need to do is register the handsets (which will then register to the hub), and then whichever class wants to use them, the teacher just needs to plug the ActivHub into their PC, and everything should work.

Guessing you don't have the older ones if you have just bought them, (which did register to the board), but if you do, then you would have to register them all individually, and probably every time you wanted to use them if being used on more than a couple of boards.

Hope this helps!

Thanks for the reply.

As we also have 4 hubs I assume I will have to register all the devices on each of the hubs?

No, you can only register the devices to one hub at a time - each time you register them to a new hub, it forgets the previous one it was registered to.

What you could do, is have all your votes AND a slate registered to 1 x hub, and the 3 x other slates registered to the other hubs - just make sure you keep the right slate / votes with the right hub! - that way, teachers could just grab the relevent slate + hub, plug the hub in, and should be good to go!
