These Humble Bundles (and Indie Royale isn't helping there now either, and now there's Show Me The Games) are really not helping with my massive Steam backlog. How can you not buy them at that price, with those conditions?

 

God bless indie games, I do love 'em. It's like getting PD games on Amiga coverdiscs all over again

Show Me The Games is just a big discount on lots of games, no bundles. It's run by Cliffski from Positech what has done some good games (Gratuitous Space Battles is marvellous) and all the money goes straight to the developer - no overhead for the site or anyone else.

 

Indie Royale does bundles similar to Humble, but has some crazy pricing scheme where the cost goes up over time (so you're better off buying early) but you can pay more to lower the price for everyone else, I dunno, it seems to work for them but essentially it's lots of excellent indie games bundled for cheap. Last one had Fate of the World in, first one had Sanctum in, both of which are excellent and £10+ normally, and with another 3 or 4 games the bundles were about £3. There's not a live deal at the moment but I'd sign up for the newsletter if I were you, as the two bundles so far really were superb.

Ooh I was tempted to buy these a few weeks ago, glad I waited, bargain! I like the image that comes up if you enter an amount under $1 (I have paid more than that!!)

Exciting updates:

The Humble Bundle has added the Dungeons of Dredmor for anyone who beat the average donation. If you didn't first time round, firstly, shame on you, secondly, you can up your contribution to get the new game. By all accounts it's worth it.

 

Secondly, Indie Royale have gone live with The Really Big Bundle which (at time of writing) is £2.63 to get Really Big Sky, Runespell: Overture, Eufloria, Cthulhu Saves The World and Breath of Death VII, all with Steam keys. Well worth a punt for £3. The price goes up over time so the sooner you buy it, the more you'll save, although that's normally a matter of pennies and you'll all be good, honest indie gamers and pay over the minimum anyway, right?
