Good web hosting with CMS..

Hi Guys,

 

Just had a call off a friend who was asking about decent web hosting.

 

He is after something relatively cost effective, that comes with joomla or a similar CMS.

 

What do you recommend?

 

My host is currently 3ix - They are OK but not the best... so i wouldnt recommend it as an option.

I use 1&1 personally and they have an inbuilt feature to install Joomla/Wordpress at a click of a button. On price its not too bad either, another member of the office uses ukcheapest and seems to find them rather good but you do have to install your self with them and they are cheap.

1&1, HeartInternet, FastHost, Namesco all generally OK. Most seem to come with apps like Drupal, Joomla, SugarCRM, Wordpress as easy to install options.

 

The Times carried an article a while back recommending basekit.com and I'm looking to use them for my next project (a nursery looking for something very cheap and simple)

I found they're support to be lacking. I'd recommend Mythic Beasts - UK-based shell hosting, co-location and Virtual Dedicated Servers, Hosting UK - 100% UK Web Hosting Host Est. 2002. Maybe try Netcetera.
