Quick sysprep question

So I've got a handful of laptops which are going out to teachers. These laptops will be standalone and not joined to the domain. Do I need to sysprep them before imaging? Never syspreped a win 7 machine before and reading previous threads it looks like a nightmare.

If they are standalone sysprep will be easy.

 

Its found in system 32 in a folder called sysprep. set it as Generalize and out of the box experience.

wont that strip out any drivers though?

 

iirc yoiu need a sysprep xml file with

           true
           true
       

in if you want to keep any installed device drivers

If the laptops are not going on a domain or the network then you don't need to sysprep them. But it only takes a few moments to do so you may as well.

not used the method much but never had any stipping out of drivers when i have used it.

Thanks everyone for the help. I syspreped the master laptop using FN-GN advice and captured the image. I'll know if it worked later this week when I image the other laptops. One thing I noticed was when I ran sysprep the screen res dropped to the lowest setting. Is this normal?
