cygnes Posted November 18, 2011 Posted November 18, 2011 Hello there, I'm not sure if I'm posting this in the correct section so sorry if it's not. At our school we have as any other school, an Admin network and a Curriculum Network, We used to have Exchange on the Circ side of the network but would like it between the two. So at the moment we have the following set-up Admin ---Exchange (2 NICS) --- Curriculum ofcourse on both networks they have there own DNS and AD. however we are finding on some Admin workstations, the exchange server name is resolving to the Curriculum side, so an Admin pc will resolve our exchange server to SJC-Exchange.Curriculum.local, meaning emails don't work, however on another Admin Workstation the exchange server will resolve to SJC-Exchange.Admin.local which works. now if i change the non working Admin workstation to the correct exchange server name, outlook shows as working offline, I have tried ipconfig /flushdns which did not work. Does anyone have any suggestions? I can give more info if it's requested or needed.

Domino Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 You might be better off with a one way trust, and enable accounts from one domain to have exchange accounts on the other. Deploy Exchange 2010 in an Exchange Resource Forest Topology: Exchange 2010 SP1 Help - it's what we're doing from Paris->London until we get them onto our global domain. Actually putting Exchange in two domains is gonna be nightmarish....
pritchardavid Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 Like Domino said a domain trust may be the way to go. We have two domains at the moment two. For the emails for the admin side we just created extra accounts on the curriculum network just for the admin email. Prefer to do that that than setting up a trust (Ours are on two different vlans)

Hi FN-GM, yes both sides have internet access, and both sides have routing, since we have shares that need to be accessed from the Curriculum Network from the Admin network. Kind Regards Paul S
