[ms office - 2007] Global template asking to save changes

We have recently had pupils getting an error message every time they close word wit hthe global template from their shared mandatory profile asking them to save changes, how do I setup word to import this template at startup (it just puts their name in the footer and sets a few settings) and not try to save on close?
