Ok heres what ive done so far

Installed a master controller WFS709TP Netgear for our wireless

My plan is to setup two networks ( 2 vlans) ( 1 on each SSID )

vlan 1 is our main network 10.146.*.* ( used for all our laptops in school)

vlan 2 is another network 172.168.*.* ( used for people who come into the school from outside )

The controllers DHCP is set to ON , and dishes out IP's to VLAN 2

VLAN1 Gets its IP's from the schools domain controller's DHCP .

All works fine .

The problem im finding is , how do i setup to allow vlan2 access to the internet/router on vlan1 when its on a different subnet ?.

Im assuming its to do with the routing part of the config ?

Any one able to help whos done this config

thanks for that ,

Had another play with better eyes this morning

I now have 2 vlans working

1 on the 172 subnet and one on the 10 subnet

the Internet router is on the 10. subnet

the 172 network can now communicate with the 10. network , including the internet ! .. But how do i set it up so it cant access any of the other address's like the servers etc ?

There seems no option for like a ACL on each vlan ?

hmmm not sure what sort of firewall rules / ACL's you can assign on the router - if you have users sitting on the VLAN you want to dont want to block , you may be able to set rules on your OS firewall to block outgoing and incoming to the other VLAN Subnet.
