nicholab Posted November 9, 2011 Posted November 9, 2011 How can I get a insurance quote for a car with a changed engine? The engine was changed as the unit failed currently it has a 1.25l down from the factory 1.4l. Most on line checkers don't give you the option once you say its a non standard engine.
LosOjos Posted November 9, 2011 Posted November 9, 2011 Most on line checkers don't give you the option once you say its a non standard engine. Call some insurance companies? There's more to life than the internet! Seriously though, I think as it's a special case you are going to have to make some calls. Perhaps find the cheapest provider online for the standard vehicle then call up for a revised quote? Should get you an idea of who will be cheapest either way...
Pyroman Posted November 9, 2011 Posted November 9, 2011 Try Adrian Flux, they're a special car insurer, got mine with them
michael2k6 Posted November 9, 2011 Posted November 9, 2011 Yup. Adrian flux. Have you changed the log book with the DVLA? THere's a ridiculous process you have to go through but if you dont and the insurance doesn't match, it might be void. I've got a mini which was a 998 and is now a 1293, i've changed that on the log book and on the insurance - Adrian Flux don't have a problem with that, I've declared everything. Mic
