Convert powerpoint to flash?

Anyone know of some nice free software to do this. The headmaster wants to start showing powerpoint on our new electrionic noticeboard but we need to convert them to flash first.

Why do you need to convert them to Flash first?

 

Can you not just export it as a self running Powerpoint?

 

Always suprises me when speakers come in, they give presentations for a living and always insist the laptop we use has Powerpoint, dumbfounded when told they can save their presentations in a way they'll run all on their own.

I would if it was just that he wanted to display but we use Onelan and it does not accept ppt files so have to convert to flash first so it can be displayed along with everything else that is running.

Well off the top of my head, I don't know a convertor, but a long winded way would be to save it as JPG and import the slides into Flash.

Have you looked at Powerbullet? Not strictly conversion but it's flash.

Yes Open Office Impress does it.

 

File > Export >[Choose Macromedia Flash from the list]

I knew it was possible to do this because someone mentioned it in the local LUG once. I've been wondering what software will do it myself because I think it's the best way for showing off work the pupils have made in powerpoint on the website.

 

(They only mentioned powerpoint because they were complaining about people sending files in closed file formats to them, such as .doc or .ppt. Normally mentioning any microsoft software, especially in a good light, causes a dull roar of protest across the room. One day I'm going to take a windows laptop with me, turn the volume up full and boot up windows and watch their faces when the windows startup music plays ).
