Calling all cinematographers...

What is the name of the effect where a piece of film is sped up when say panning then slowed down to focus on an object in slow motion then sped up again and repeated.

 

If you know the intro to jackass 3d thats the effect im after.

is there actually an effect name? i just googled the intro you mention and it looks just like a regular clip with a couple of super slo-mo bits in.

ive always wanted to know what the effect is called where the background seems to blur more and zoom out and the foreground zooms in. sort of like that shot in jaws when he realises theres a shark in the water, but i can never find the name of it

Isn't that a crash zoom? The blurring is caused by the reducing DOF as the zoom increases.

i've found it being called dolly zoom or the vetigo effect, but im guessing all names for the same thing
