I've just sent out IE9 across the network and we are seeing a weird issue this morning where when a pupil/staff member opens IE9 the main window opens with two panes - one the browser window and the other showing the drives.

 

I'm looking through the .adm file but cannot see where I would stop this happening.

 

Anyone seen this or got any ideas?

Here is a screenshot of what is happening:

As you can see a drive pane is opening on the left hand side. This started happening suddenly and we have no idea why.

Agreed, trust adobe. If it is the addon and you can get the GUID of it you should be able to block running it in IE through GPO which would stop it sitewide.

 

Do you use mandatory profiles, a slight oversite in setting those up could result in this happening for all users.

It's the 'Adobe PDF explorer bar', which is part of the Adobe PDF Toolbar.

 

You can get the GUID from the Manage Add Ons menu option.

 

The GPO to disable this is in Internet Explorer\Security Features\Add-on Management\Add-on list.

 

Use the GUID as the Value name and the value should be 0 to deny.
