PRM-35 dlp colour issues

Hi,

 

I know this is a promethean based problem, but i am looking for some help form the wider community.

We had a few promethean boards installed over the summer with the prm-35 dlp projectors attached.

We are having issues in that the colour is baciscally naff, yellow is more like mustard and it can be hard to tell the difference between red/blue and black from the back of a classroom. The clarity is just not there.

 

Promethean advised to play about with the advanced colour settings on the projector, but as there are an awful lot of options, i was wondering if anyone else had had any issues with these units and what they did with them to get a better colour output?? (throwing out of the window is unfortunately not an option)

The answer to your problem is DLP if you buy DLP and even promeathiean have an alternative, the colours are never very acurate, i know a case of some who where supplied to an underground railway system and all had to be exchanged for LCD as they could not seperate the line coloures on the projected map (the reason they bought them).

 

The only answer is replace with a LCD unit.

Something tells me Promethean might not be too keen to replace the units free of charge.

We had bought the LCD projectors previously yet i think we had to rush through this order and the boss didnt notice he was ordering DLP.

Seems silly that a supplier is shipping inferior quality goods when they themselves stock a better unit.

What is bizarre though is one projector is alot worse than the others. you would have thought if they were all naff they would be the same...

Yes but its not quite that simple the DLP units are £100 cheaper thats why they offer them to you first, they only sell them but i am sure they are aware they are not as good, i have told them often enough.
