I've created a GPO which creates a new Power Plan, however it isn't marking it as the active plan even though that option is specified in the Policy.

I tried having it update the "Balanced" plan instead, but for some reason my changes never applied. Does anyone know either how to force it to update the Balanced Plan or how to make it set my chosen plan as active?

Based on advice in another post, I made the changes at Computer Config > Policies > Admin Templates > System > Power Management instead of using Power Plans.

thanks, got it working by amending an existing plan rather than creating a new one. IMO it's better than using group policy as it's far easier to target specific machines

Generally, our AD structure allows for accurate targeting of PCs by GPO, but there are exceptions like this, where I want to apply one setting to one PC within the OU container and a different one to all the others (I'm not beyond re-organising the OUs to get round this, mind you)
