oxide54 Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 Is Active Directory Certificate Services an available role on Server Core 2008 R2 ??? MS Press 70-640 lists it as an available role on page 24. Then on page 30 asks a question which the answer on page 922 says that ADCS is not an available role on server core and you must re-install full server 2008 R2.? i can't find ADCS in the OCList output? I'm thinking it isn't anyone care to confirm thanks.
AngryTechnician Posted October 18, 2011 Posted October 18, 2011 It is available. My CA server is a Server Core machine. The console for it is only on a full install, but the actual service itself does run on Server Core. Here's the TechNet article I used to set it up: How to Set Up a Certification Authority on a Server Core Installation Do pay attention to the community notes at the bottom of the article (and on the appendices) as some of the scripts they've published have minor syntax errors you'll need to correct (good old Microsoft).
techpro Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 Hey guys, another question, do you have two services together, I mean if that possible to have Domain Controller and AD CS in Server Core together? Because I believe that is what the question/answer in MS Press 70-640 on page 24 is trying to be related.
