tri_94 Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 hi there we are an RM School and they use a logon banner.exe which has a image of a 4 somehow in it. can any help me find a way to replace that with the school logo? is there a program that i can decompile a exe file to change the image and reinsert our logo? thanks nick any help would be great.
6Foot2 Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 You could try 7Zip. That might do the trick. Try it on a copy of the EXE in case it doesn't work and damages your EXE.

What do the T&C's for the app say? if they mention anything about not decompiling or reverse engineering it then you legally can't. Ben
iisjman07 Posted November 29, 2011 Posted November 29, 2011 ResHacker possibly; but you seriously risk corrupting the exe 1

Ben Actually reverse engineering is not illegal in the EU or the US. as long as you are not creating a competing product, however I am not sure changing an image would count as interoperability. Source Reverse engineering - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia I would try Resource Hacker As everyone else has said make sure you use a copy of the exe as you can really break things, even hang up your machine if you happen to overwrite the wrong thing.
