I have a picture [currently a BMP but it can be a PNG] It has a band of colour down the left hand side and along the bottom. The rest of the picture is plain white. I need to make the space that is currently white 'no-fill' so that I can incorporate the left and bottom border into another picture.

I have tried CorelDraw and PhotoPaint but not being particularly adept at these things I failed miserably.

Can anyone tell me how to achieve the effect I am looking for so that I can isolate the border as required?

Many thanks.

Open in Paint.NET (free). Use Magic Wand tool to select the white area. Delete -OR- Invert selection so non-white area is chosen - the border, then copy and paste.

If you get stuck, link to the file and I can do it for you.

I have it in a usable form now. It is a bit rough at the edges but I don't think that will be noticed in when it is deployed in the manner I have planned.

Thanks.
