The MRMonitor service failed to start

Looking at our server event log today I noticed a timeout and failure of a service called MRMonitor and the message

 

"The MRMonitor service failed to start due to the following error:

The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion."

 

Could anyone shed some light on what MRMonitor is or why I have this event?
