synaesthesia Posted October 9, 2011 Posted October 9, 2011 Also think this is a great idea and another positive move for very practical education - even it's location will provide a huge enthusiasm boost to the students studying there. I'm similar happy with the sort of thing we see at Moulton College nearby and it's something I'd like to see more of. I don't think they should worry about "setting a career path too early" as workable knowledge in areas like engineering and event management can be applied in many many different career paths and practical education paves the way for logical thinking in how things work.

Especially as Force India's HQ is about 400 Yards from the circuit entrance Unknown road to Unknown road - Google Maps And the likes of Mercedes are within 10 miles and also Red Bull within 20 they are going to be pretty damn lucky students!
synaesthesia Posted October 10, 2011 Posted October 10, 2011 It's a great location - many manufacturers in and outside of F1 have a permanent presence at Silverstone and share it's facilities. The wind tunnel at Brackley is used by 4 or 5 teams nearly constantly. Cosworth is also based in Northampton. Plus you can spend lunchtimes in either pub (Silverstone Village or Whittlebury) and share the very same seat that Jenson and Lewis did in the great BBC piece last year

GrumbleDook Posted October 10, 2011 Posted October 10, 2011 I think a number of schools in the area will be hit ... not just Sponne. And I think that some schools will get a surprise if they think they can send the usual suspects they used to for 'vocational' courses.
