Seeing the Wiki section for SIMS it looks a little bare. There is plenty of potential to put up user guides that everyone from teachers to day-to-day office staff could use beyond backend technical instructions. Thing like how to take registers, how to do reports, how to utilise AM7, etc. Stuff that techs could in theory use for reference as training and guide staff to the site or print handouts.

 

Do you reckon we should get a little Wiki movement going to expand the Wiki section for the most used MIS system in the UK? Or would we be stepping on Capita's toes a bit? Of course, if Phil knows of any Capita staff who want to contribute they'd be more then welcome.

I think there is plenty out there for the basics, built into the documentation section so it'd be taking away a little i think. Capita put lots of effort into it, so why redo that work.

What would be good is little snippets on how to install e.g. by script, gpo, set up permissions etc. the techie side in fact, which is what a lot of us here come for.

A section on best practise for AM7 even. collating material from the numerous threads.

Also something on the scripts and workarounds many of us have.
