Simple Art Program need (something like Revelation Natural Art, only free ;-) )

I've had a request to get Revelation Natural Art, which is an art program. But it's 300 bar for a full site licence. So I'm looking for something similar but free. Can anyone recommend anything? Thanks!

I don't have a lot to do with curriculum software, but perhaps Sumopaint might be worth a look?

 

It's free and on-line. In fact, it's a tour-de-force in what can be done in a browser.

We replaced Revelation Natural Art with Tuxpaint when I upgraded the suite, as I could find no record of any licensing, and the teachers are pretty happy with it - only go up to year 6 in this school though.

It does seem to be a good paint program for the lower years, I don't suppose anyone has an MSI for it do they?

It's very easy to make your own as you just need to copy the files and make a shortcut. I would post the one I have but a) it's quite big (60MB) and b) I've never been sure of the legalities of distributing third-party binary installers for GPL software. I think its fine to do so but something in the back of my mind has never come to terms with it.

Thanks guys - love this forum! Well, I've had a look at a few freebies, and then I remembered we have the 2Simple Collection. Which is an odd thing to forget, given that it takes 4 hours to install (ish) and is therefore always the thing I dread most. The paint program in that seems quite good - simple, as you'd expect, but with the steady addition of functionality as you move between the different versions. So I'm going to suggest that and see what people in the school reckon...fingers crossed!

paint.net is pretty good and worth a look

ArtRage (has to be version 2 starter edition now) is quite good. More an Art painting program then a graphics one. Pick a tool, pick a colour and away you go. They will try and steer you to buying a version but Version 2 Starter Edition is free. I used to use the previous version as a demo on whiteboards.

I am pretty sure Tuxpaint can just run from a share, makes updating easy.

I use the free version of Advanced Installer.

I've just been looking at that. It's a shame it has a nag box and some of the drawing tool options are greyed out unless you purchase the full version. I would recommend that the OP takes a look at the freeware Smoothdraw 3 here: SmoothDraw

It's a freehand drawing tool that is very easy to use and has some great options including tablet support
