Setting up a network of virtual machines

This could potentially be the worlds shortest thread, but my question is this: is it possible to set up a virtual network in VirtualBox (or any other free VM software) in a similar way to the "teams" you can create in VMWare?

 

I ask because I'm about to start some MCITP courses and want to get some practice in beforehand, but unfortunately the free version of VMWare Microsoft is giving to students on their DreamSpark website is 32 bit (I'm on Win7 x64) and buying VMWare is out of the question on my wages!

Yes - you can create an internal interface- that is internal to your machine but all VM;s can interact.

Just download the Trial Version of Windows Server 2008 R2 from the Microsoft website - I think you can extend the trial to something like 280 days.

 

Also by you combining MCITP with Microsoft and then mentioning VMWare can I assume you actually mean Hyper-V?

you can download vmware player from there website you will need to sign up but you can get a 64 bit version. the vmware player is free also they can provide 30 day trials of vmware they are what i used while i was at uni.

The course I'm actually doing is with the OU but covers all necessary topics to sit the 70-640 and 70-642 but I'll also study for 70-646 in my own time to get the MCITP: Server Administrator on Windows Server 2008 qualification

yes but if you have a vmmachine you can copy it and then set up the new system on the copied machine, or set up vmware and set up the machines then run them through vmware player once the trial has expired, i would also create a blank vmmachine for use after it expires.
