Help with config screen

Hi all,

 

I wonder if i could have some assistance with the initial Home access plus V7 config screen.

Firstly I have installed the software, setup the IIS and copied across the files

Browse to //servername/HAP and i get the configuration page - enter the information the AD connection says system.servicemodel.serviceactivationexception when i click test and so if i try to enter any other details I have the same issue.

UNC Paths are back slashes ('\\servername\share') not forward slashes (//)

 

Done a bit of searching on google, my error was caused by .net framework not being right. Ran aspnet_regiis.exe -iru and I can now get into the setup.aspx page and start working on this.

 

So far problem solved, still not sure about the api directory though.

Hiya sorry may have confused you all the forward slashes were just to access the internal website then it loads the setup page I enter the relevant settings but get the error

I had this exact same problem - followed these instructions in another thread on this forum and it solved the problem.

 

 

Open ~/Web.config

Right down the bottom, try deleting

 

<standardEndpoints> <webHttpEndpoint> <standardEndpoint name="" helpEnabled="true" faultExceptionEnabled="true" automaticFormatSelectionEnabled="true"/> webHttpEndpoint> standardEndpoints>

Im trying to add powerpoint files as a type to be allowed for upload, ive filled in all the information, given the file extension and when i click on ok i get an "internal server error" popup

Try saving the file and reloading it.. The gui is not updating properly all of the time and you might see that it has already saved it into the xml

When you reload, be sure to enter your AD password in the second section again!

Actually Simmer, Nick has fixed this in the very latest version of the setup.aspx file, but it is not in the v7.2 upgrade zip which was uploaded last night. You can get the updated setup.aspx from the source code of the HAP project:

Home Access Plus&#43 - click download and extract the setup.aspx file from the CHS Extranet\HAP.Web\ subfolder. Just use that one file and ensure the rest of your site is on the v7.2 released yesterday.

 

NB: Presumably this is a pre-release version of the setup file - It will appear in the released zip file when Nick is ready - I have used it on my site and tested it quite thoroughly though.

Mine works fine.. check your settings in the config again..

 

Links / Resources

Click Edit and ensure that the Group has "All" in "Show To"

 

Also, click on the "Browse My School Computer" link

Check "Show To" says "Inherit" and nothing else (no trailing < /a> type bits)..

 

That kinda exhausts my ideas on it!

I had that when the GUI didnt marry up with what was in the XML file.. best bet is to either reload the setup.aspx page in the browser (loosing any currently unsaved changes) or click save at the bottom which saves and then reloads the page.

 

Failing that, check the hapconfig.xml file in \hap\app_data\

 

It should have the following line 13 or so lines down (depending on how many OU's you have):

 

 

That is the correct setting for my working install

took it out of the xml in the end, although having now got access to the my documents link, when i run either the basic or extended versions they are blank. Apparently i have no documents, or drives

oh that sucks Not sure why you are having such issues..

 

I reckon you have two alternatives... Compare your XML to mine (heavily edited to "hopefully" remove anything important) to see if there is something obvious (Posted below) or remove the hapconfig.xml file and reload the setup.aspx entering your info from scratch - at least now you have a setup.aspx which doesnt have the same bugs, so it might prove more successful?

 

If you want to compare, mine works pretty well (except for the Quota Server which i haven't started looking at yet):

The reason im having such issues is ive had a very long day and im dense. I hadnt added any drives into the mappings section. I have now and would you beleive it, drives appear. I amaze myself sometimes i really do

still seem to be struggling a bit with the intial setup. I have now got a win2k8 server with IIS7, stuck from the video on adding the iis app pool\hap account to the HAP folder?? it doesnt show the application pool at all to add?? but i have set it all up in IIS. any ideas

The naming scheme to add is "IIS AppPool\HAP" (or what ever you called your app pool), if you typed that into the user box, and select the local server to search, it should find it and add it no problem, if you still have an issue, see the documentation tab of Home Access Plus&#43
