Unhappy Visuliser :(

In our place we're got a large number of AverMedia SPB 350 Flatbed Visulisers. For the most part they seem to work squite well, although we've got one which will sit with the power light on but not do anything. Typically, I'd expect the "Camera" or "PC" blue light to be on. There's no output on and I've not had any problems with them before. It's about a year old and was working fine (or so I'm told) before the summer break. AverMedia isn't the easiet company to get in touch with (US based, I believe). I've also looked for an online manual to find if it's possible to do a "hard reset" but I can only find spec sheets and basic user guides.
