mrbios Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 (edited) I need to change this: C:\setACL.exe -on "G:\Shares\TR\Teaching Resources\Business\Business Studies\TSP Controlled Assessments" -ot file -actn ace -ace "n:archway\student;p:change,read_ex,write" To, instead of giving pretty much full access to a folder, i want to to give the student group the following access rights: "Travese folder / execute file, List folder / read data, read attributes, read extended attributes, create folders / append data, take ownership" Anyone know what i need for that? EDIT: i also want the student permission to apply to "This folder only" not "this folder, subfolder and files" Edited September 15, 2011 by mrbios
mrbios Posted September 15, 2011 Author Posted September 15, 2011 (edited) I've notw got an easier method for doing this instead i just need to put something on the end of this: C:\setACL.exe -on "G:\Shares\TR\Teaching Resources\Business\Controlled Assessment\TSP Controlled Assessments" -ot file -actn ace -ace “n:archway\studentDeny; To remove the "StudentDeny from the sepecified folder, what's the syntax to remove an acl? EDIT: Never mind, give me long enough and i always get tehre in the end C:\setACL.exe -on "G:\Shares\TR\Teaching Resources\Business\Controlled Assessment\TSP Controlled Assessments" -ot file -actn trustee -trst "n1:archway\StudentDeny;ta:remtrst;w:dacl,sacl" worked a treat Edited September 15, 2011 by mrbios
