I've got a samsung 6000 series Led tv and I seem to have lost Beeb1 and 2 after our analogue switch off.

 

The tuner on my DVD player is fine (and sky) by my

Tv's lost the channel. As far as I can see all other channels are fine including bbc4/3.

 

I've tried looking at the set up by all my options to set up the channels, change the country and so on are greyed out both with the HDMI connections in and out.

 

So now I'm stuck. Any one got any ideas?

That's weird, ive got a new Samsung, I think it's the 6000 series, and I have the same issue! I just watch through Sky though. Easier that way

BBC1 & BBC2 have ceased to be an analouge channels, they are now entirely digital as the first stage of the change over.

 

Maybe a retune in the DVB part of your TV?

Only BBC2 has ceased on analogue if you're using Emley Moor, which I assume you are as Sheffield and Belmont, the other two likely options have both completed the second stage of DSO and are fully digital.

 

Analogue BBC1, C4, and C5 are all exactly as they were, and ITV has moved to BBC2's old frequency.

 

Can you clarify - is this lack of BBC1 and BBC2 analogue or digital?

my sony did that (again emley moor) rescanned a few times nowt left it on standby when i went to work and they came back (pc scanned and refound them fine infact has 2 copies of most bbc stations grrrrr). I think the advice is to do a total factory reset of the system (pita i know as it loses all the settings youve changed ) and it should refind them. Its also worth checking out chanel 800 and up as it sometimes dumps channels it thinks are duplicates there

i just wish they would do the switchover in 1 go

In the Sheffield area you're quite likely to find the Belmont transmitter which provides the Hull version of Look North (with Peter Levy) on LCN 1 as it has lower frequencies so the tuner finds it first. I've heard that pulling the aerial lead out while it searches until it gets to about CH30 helps!

ah i though it was BBC1 and BBC2 that stopped being analouge from Emley Moor, it's only just over t'hill from me

Given that the Regional Manager from Digital UK who was interviewed on Calendar gave several pieces of misinformation and missed out a crucial fact, it's no surprise that nobody knows what the hell is going on!

Funny to read about places still having analogue, ours was shut off nearly 2 years ago!

 

When it was shut off down here i remember the digital signal was also changed. This meant certain makes of digibox wouldn't receive the signal correctly. Not sure if that could still be the case with a new TV like that.

It's the digital ones I'm missing.

 

I was assuming it would require re tuning as my other tv and DVD recorder did, I hit a stumbling block as all the options to retune are greyed out

Is there a full factory reset option?

Will have a look. Upgrading the firmware has not helped.

Hmm I'd have expected a firmware upgrade to do a factory reset in the process.

 

Are you using the main Emley or a relay transmitter? (The answer to "Do you get analogue Channel 5" is usually the same in this area!) If it's a relay, do you know which one?
