We have been using online outlook for a couple of years and now want to give some of our staff full MS 2007 outlook.

The problem seems to be we are running a mandatory profile for all users so their ost file ends up on the local profile.

Has anyone managed to use outlook with a mandatory profile or should we be looking at moving these users over to a roaming profile?

Thanks

I looked into this myself a while ago, and came to the conclusion that mandatory profiles and Outlook really don't mix too well. Even simple things like Signatures, which is stored in the AppData folder, became a real pain with mandatory profiles. I do think it's possible, but in the end we decided to move to roaming profiles for staff anyway, which made the setup far easier.

Overall yeah, though there were some obvious niggles and what not along the way. I had a good couple of months to test everything first though, so any problems I had after that were fairly minor ones, generally permissions based. Having things like AppData roam around with staff is great, they can make changes to their program settings and have it follow them around.

I am currently trying to change a couple of users over to roaming but having problems getting the profile to save back to the server. Luckily no rush for me at the moment.

Are they getting any errors about logging in with a temporary profile when they login? I had a few problems with that until I had the file share permissions sorted our properly.
