URGENT - Acer Server Hard Disk Needed

Can anyone help me out with a replacement for a 75Gb SATA Hard drive which has just gone pop in one of our Acer Altos G540 servers?

 

(the finance server, and we became an academy today - eek!)

 

Current model is a ST380815AS.

 

Quotes or suggestions ASAP please - I need to order tomorrow!

Can I just clarify that you can do that (stick a normal seagate in the caddy that the failed disk's in) and hot swap it - I'm guessing that any new SATA disk (within reason) over the size of the failed one will do? Acer don't put anything on the disks to initialise or identify them then when they supply them?

If anyone's actually done this (A) at all or (B) on an altos, please post it and it would help my blood pressure no end!

The RAID controllers are usually just LSI ones so you should be fine just chucking another larger disk in, 75GB is a weird size though, are you sure its not SAS?

 

Anyway, usual disclaimers about backing up first aside you should be fine just shoving a new disk in and depending on settings, letting the controller get on with it or go in and tell the controller to accept it into the RAID set.

Can I just tie this thread off by recording that I shoved A-N-other SATA disk in (actually a 1TB as it was the smallest available from our suppliers pronto) and it's rebuilt fine thanks all
