hp laserjet 3550 not printing in colour

Hi,

 

i am trying to setup a HP LaserJet 3550 Printer. I am using the lastest drivers from the HP Site. I seem to be unable to set the printer to print in colour. In the printing preferences there isnt an option to select colour. In printing defualts there is an option, its selected to print in colour.

 

I have tried using the Universal drivers and they dont seem to work.

The only thing I can think of is that maybe you're using a dodgy driver. First things first, what driver are you trying to use; PCL6, PCL5, PCL5e or PS? Are you definitely using the correct driver for that model? I know it sounds daft but there have been the odd times here and there where I've been so in the zone that I've ended up getting carried away and used the wrong driver, which worked initially for printing odd documents from work but as soon as tables were introduced then everything went funny.

 

If all that checks out then I would think that maybe HP have made a booboo and accidentally ruined things.

Out of curiosity have you updated the latest firmware on the printer?
