Malinin Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 I'm not totally sure I'm in the right forum, if I'm wrong please let me know where to turn if someone can help me with this. I was reinstalling winXP on a compaq mini 110c 1011SO following instructions online which had worked great, then I started adding the drivers from HP's site to get the sound and everything going. Then I added something called winflash from the HP site, but I really shouldn't have done that. It seems I've killed the computer. It refuses to start when I press the on button. From what it seems when I google this I guess I killed the BIOS with that damn winflash. Gah, should have googled it before adding it, thought it was ok since I got it from the official HP site with the chipset and audio etc. Does anyone know if I can reboot the bios somehow? I have no external CD/DVD. :-/ I got the netbook really cheaply so I'm not crying blood over this, but it was a handy little computer and I would very much like to have it back somehow. I would very much appreciate any advice I can get on this.
Malinin Posted September 1, 2011 Author Posted September 1, 2011 Huh, after refusing to start at all for over an hour, just a black screen, it works again. Never mind this thread then.
