Network drives on another server

Morning,

 

I am getting an error whenever I map a drive that doesn't live on the HAP server box. is there any special permissions I need to do on the drive?

 

The permissions are set right on the share and in the folders for the user trying to access.

 

In the basic version its saying I don't have permission to access the drive.. int he extended its throwing up error messages.

We have HAP running on our internal web server with the data on a seprate server and I can't think of any extra setup.

Its running on IIS 7.5 on W2008R2 if that helps.

Are you running it over HTTPS and also check your config files that the drive maps have the permissions listed there as well.

Where you see the enablereadto and enablewriteto thats the permissions that HAP uses in the first instance.

I've tried different combinations of permissions including All and All and its still denied.

 

If I change the permission on the share to everyone then it lets me in, if I leave it with the permissions set for the user then its access denied.

Seriously, don't you just love computers.. its started working.. I was adding the rest of the drives and changing the permissions and testing and lo and behold.. I could access the remote drives.

Its a great bit of software - setup over this holiday and releasing to the kids in the new term.

O the fun, sounds like either the page had been cached by the browser, or the web.config hadn't been cleared from cache
